2012 Season Early May through Mid July, which will be made up of approximately 10-15 games plus a Year End Tourney for 3rd grade and above.

Teams will have two practices and/or games each week from Monday - Thursday

VAA/EVAA All Star Games- Each Grade Level from 3rd-6th Grade - JUNE 16, 2012

3rd-6th Grade Level Tournament - JULY 14-15, 2012

VAA/EVAA World Series Games- Each Grade Level from 3rd-6th Grade - JULY 17, 2012

7th-11th Grade Level Tournament - JULY 26th thru JULY 29th, 2012 in Lakeville. Season games will begin after Memorial Day!

2012 Community Baseball Details

The Inhouse leagues will be broken out by grade level. Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten are combined in a single league. There are individual leagues for 1st grade through 6th grade that represent a single grade level. Starting in 3rd grade, teams begin playing against Eastview Athletic Association (EVAA) teams in addition to the VAA teams.

7th grade (Colts), 8th/9th grade (Ponies), and 10th/11th grade (Mustangs) will play weekday games against other in-house teams from EVAA, Lakeville, Eagan. Players will need to travel to some games outside of the Apple Valley city limits, but there will not be any weekend tournament play except the end-of-season tournament. Season games begin after Memorial Day!

Like in past years, we will be providing hats and shirts. Starting in 2012, all grade levels will all wear a colored t-shirt with the Apple Valley logo. Also, VAA will be requiring participants to purchase their own batting helmets. VAA will be selling their existing helmets for $5.00 each. VAA will also be selling brand new helmets for $15.00 each. A couple of dates will be set up in March where helmets can be purchased.

Registration will be based on the child's current grade at the time of registration.

Both associations hold an end of the season tournament to obtain a grade level winner, with each VAA winner then playing the corresponding EVAA winner in a one-game World Series. The mid-season All-Star Game will allow the top players on each VAA team to play against the top EVAA players.

In a continued effort to maintain the integrity of the VAA In House Baseball program, we will be using high school paid umpires for all games starting at the 4th grade level. The Inhouse leagues are intended to be fun and focus on the skill development of our players. With this said, our umpires too, are working on developing their skills as an umpire so please keep this in mind if you are a spectator as one of these games.

In an effort to maintain parity among all teams, we will still hold a closed-door coaches draft of players for the 3rd grade and older. Only Head Coaches will be involved in the draft. The Age Group Directors will inform the coaches who were selected to be Head Coaches. Players will be selected based on evaluations turned in by the coaches from the previous season, as opposed to a tryout. If we do not have an evaluation, we will do our best to obtain the necessary information to help in this process.

All practices will begin the week of April 30th. Practices can be any weekday except Friday.
